Ecogent was involved with the initial conception of the Omaha Wastewater Treatment Plant north of Auckland as well asĀ  upgrades in 2000, 2004 and 2013. Ecogent upgraded existing traditional oxidation ponds to provide increased aeration capacity by way of fine bubble diffusers as surrounding communities were connected to the treatment plant taking the total houses sewered to about 1500.

Ecogent also designed and supplied the land disposal system consisting of over 20 hectares of subsurface drip irrigation including under the fairways of the prestigious Omaha golf course.

The Omaha WWTP is an Auckland Council asset operated by Watercare and recently had its consent renewed for 35 years without the need for further capital expenditure.
